EAST SANDWICH - August 20, 2012 - Incumbent State Representative Randy Hunt of East Sandwich reported today cash and in-kind contributions totaling $30,312 for the reporting period from January 1 to August 19, 2012.
"I am very pleased with the strong financial support our campaign continues to garner, especially in a year when we have opposition in the general election and plenty of competition for fundraising dollars," commented Hunt. "It takes a great deal of resources to get the word out to over 40,000 residents of the 5th Barnstable District. Although hundreds of people visit my blog and state rep website every day, it is still the old school advertising, door knocking, mailings and telephone calling that will carry the day."
The Committee to Elect Randy Hunt is particularly pleased that the $30K has been received prior to the campaign's three major fundraisers:
Saturday, August 25th - Texas BBQ & Trap Shoot, 4pm at the Monument Beach Sportman's Club
Monday, September 17th - "Slice & Ice" Golf Outing & 19th Hole Social, noon at the Ridge Club in Sandwich
Saturday, October 13th - Jazz Concert featuring Tony Lujan Quintet, 6:30pm at the East Sandwich Grange Hall
Hunt added, "With $17,000 in cash heading into the height of the campaign season and our biggest three fundraising events still in front of us, we are in great shape to accomplish all that we've planned right down to election day, Tuesday, November 6th."

Its to bad your participation in last years local politics has tainted my support for yoy
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if you mean the meals tax issue, or the Quaker Meeting House Road sidewalk issue, or the firing of the prior school superintendent issue, or...
DeleteI may be the state representative for Sandwich, but I'm also a resident and voter here and I care about what happens on the local political scene.
If you're looking for a candidate who is uninvolved in local issues, then you have no choice in this election. Both of us are, have been, and will remain involved in Town of Sandwich issues, even political ones.
I am looking for fairness which you did not demostrate in your support of sc canidates.
DeleteI don't even know what that means. Am I supposed to support all candidates for local office evenly? I don't get to exercise my 1st Amendment right to free speech and to support candidates I like?
DeleteAs i get to excercise my rights. When someone likes the current chair after all the trouble she caused than you don't get my vote for what its worth. You also contributed to the prolbems of the SC. Never once did you bring up any negatives or short falls of the previous super.
DeleteYou have a very short and selective memory. I wrote a piece about how we could salvage the situation with the prior superintendent, which listed a number of negatives and shortcomings that she had demonstrated. The article was published as an op-ed in the Sandwich Enterprise and well as here on this blog.
DeleteYou have no intention to vote for me, and that's fine. But don't try to justify your position with false claims.
Here's the article: http://randyhuntcpa.blogspot.com/2010/06/there-is-way-out-of-this-mess.html
Your salvage job was in support of her. You failed to mention the suits that she lost. You supported her even with the intimidation that she demostrated.
DeleteI'll say this and I'm done with this thread. When I wrote the article, no lawsuits had been filed. You are mixing together things that happened over the past two years as if there was no sequence of events. Roger and out.
DeleteWay to go Randy! Keep up the good work, the people of the 5th Barnstable District are well served. You've got my vote!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your last post, Randy, I would venture to say that among many other strong attributes you have, that make you the best possible representative that any Massachusetts house district could have, you are a gentleman.
ReplyDeleteCarl Johansen would concur with poster 2:51 and 10;33, that Randy is a man of HONOR and Integrity, that many never grasp. He has kept his word to the people who voted him into office and that means we all get better representation and in todays corrupt world that is a hard fact to come by.
